Here's the latest installment in my series of pieces I've been titling "Room Music." I'm skipping numbers because some pieces are quicker to realize than others that are still "cooking."

This one I started writing about 7 years ago. It's taken a couple different forms, and I released a version of it for winds as a Christmas Carol a few years back. This was the original form, a quintet of assorted strings. It's an odd combination of violin, two violas and two cellos, because my son Heath (to whom the piece is dedicated) plays viola and cello, and I was thinking he might like to multitrack it. He hasn't yet, so I decided to make it a Room Music piece, as it fits. This is the first one without a piano but that's OK, it's still a short accessible piece for limited ensemble in a small venue.
