Hi so I have a job with a game studio and their sound guy wants to use OMF.

I would prefer to just give him wav files, but he is pretty insistent.

Studio One doesn't have that functionality.

I'd recommend you look at AATranslator

I'm thinking about getting it because I work in post and want to get rid of Pro Tools.

nah screw it, if they want to work in pro tools, that's their problem.

They can buy this crap if they really want lol.

The really stupid thing is that if he is working in PT and he is wanting OMFs then he is only marginally better off (and that is stretching it) than receiving wav files. The even crazier thing is that OMFs are only mono (unless you are Sonar or Steinberg and ignore the specifications) either way PT can only import mono from OMFs and AAFs (even stereo AAFs).

If he was serious then he would happily accept a PT session file converted from S1 using AATranslator where he would get the maximum detail from your session converted - otherwise wav files are all he needs.

Feel free to ask him exactly what benefit he thinks he is going to get from an OMF compared to wavs files ;-)

That is timely as our next release both reads and writes S1 sessions as well as PTX (PT10 and later) support which compliments the existing PTF (PT 7 - 12.2) support.

Great news. Very happy customer, and have been since purchasing. Keep up the great work.
