When do windows usb driver for 3 Studio 192, that there was no clicks during recording and playback? I am forced connect the Studio 192 to usb 2. I hope that someone is working on this problem.

Windows 7 does not have native USB support, so it depends on 3rd party USB drivers. My laptop is Win 7 USB 2, and my desktop is Win 10 USB 3. I don't notice any performance issues between the platforms. On win 7, I would run it as USB2. I have a USB3 expresscard slot, and the 3rd party drivers are not ideal.
Another thing to note. Depending on the computer, even if you have a USB3 cluster on the motherboard, if you are running any usb 2 or even usb 1 devices on that same cluster, the entire cluster is limited to the slowest device connected. So if you have a HDD that is USB1 running next to a USB3 device, the USB buss speed is that of USB1. |
So I bought windows 10. I put Cubase 8.5. I was hoping that all will work well was palpable. But soon the disappointment came back. There are rare stop the sound during playback. Even rarer are simply hover I for 1-3 seconds. Every day I look at the new version of the driver, but I understood that life is so good to them....

You don't give many details so please list your complete PC specs to get the best assist. But as a thought maybe you can search for how to make sure Win 10 is not hibernating or shutting down your USB ports. Search "Win 10 USB power management" and "Win 10 power management" to figure out how to disable all power management that shuts down things like your hard drive and USB ports. I have my Win 10 set to just to turn off my screen after 30 minutes of non use. All other power management is disabled. These settings are typical for a PC used for audio purposes.
BTW... I don't have the Studio 192. I have the Studio 192 Mobile and, to date it works perfectly on my Win 10 system with CB 8.5.15. My 192 Mobile is connected to a USB 3.1 port but I tried it in a USB 3 and a USB 2 port too. No issues on any of them. Regards

OK... your PC specs are very good. The only other things I can suggest are to:
1) Check to make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your GTX 970. 2) Try connecting your screen monitor to a different type of graphics port that is supported by both your GTX 970 and your screen. 3) Try increasing the audio latency buffer size. BTW... I have graphics driver 368.22 installed. I never install the 3D Vision Controller driver, the 3D Vision driver, or the HD audio driver. Of course, if you have games on your PC you will probably want to install these drivers. Also, just noticed on the Cubase forum that someone reports that they are having much better performance after upgrading to the Win 10 build 1151. So make sure your PC has been updated. Of course this is not specific to the Studio 192 but... it cant hurt. Hope one of these thoughts helps. If not, maybe a trouble ticket directly to PreSonus would be your best next step. Good luck. If you ever do get this sorted out please share what you did. Thanks. Regards

Why do I see this company name (Westbridge) when I hook up my presonus 192 into the usb port and I go to device manage? Also I found out the westbridge has no drivers installed, so wouldn't this mean I have a bad unit? : This is the company who makes westbrige= *http://www.cypress.com/search/psg/1342#/?_facetShow=ss_pclock_input_frequency_mhz_,ss_pinterfaces_supported,fs_pmin_operating_voltage_v_,fs_pmax_operating_voltage_v_,ss_ppackage,fs_pmin_operating_temp_c_,fs_pmax_operating_temp_c_,ss_pautomotive_qualified,fs_part_pric(

Try the firmware update from the "Settings" menu of the UC Surface when your Studio 192 is connected. |
