What happened to the thread with all the bugs in? There were about 19 when I last saw it a few days ago.

Too many bugs....
Too embarrassing...
Hopefully they gave the OP the top job in QA because that should have been what they should have done.
But in reality they probably just shot him...

No idea. I think like 7 of them were actual issues that got reported. The rest were odd little things with features that seem kinda weird but were designed that way.

Looks like it's been deleted or hidden.
These are supposed to be user forums right?
Censorship does not help anybody and puts Presonus in a bad light. The thread was far from perfect but it was useful.

Who said a mod deleted it? IIRC he threatened to delete the thread himself a couple of times when people couldn't reproduce every single problem he experienced.

Well this is sad. I couldn't reproduce a few of the things in that thread, but some were definitely issues.

The thing is, if you recall the "campaign" that 4.6 had before launch, and then realize that the thread with all the bugs in 4.6 got deleted, it really doesn't help shine the light on Presonus. The thing is, no amount of QA can ever squash ALL of the bugs as there are just too many configurations out there. That thread could have made Presonus look really good had they said, "Hey, thanks for letting us know. We will get right on it" and then actually follow thru with a 4.6.1 or something, and then in the release notes, say something like, "The following bugs were fixed, with many thanks to our faithful user base."

See? That's taking something "bad" and making it "good." Instead, they took something "bad" and made it "worse."

Spot on. The other alternative is to log directly with support who will pass it onto developers if deemed worthy and then the ticket is closed with no comeback. In other words another black hole. The system needs modernising so it's more transparent. Censorship is just old school and dogmatic.

I was looking for that post a few days ago and wondering the same thing: did "THEY" get to him? Is he buried in a shallow grave somewhere out in the bayou? Was his family secreted away overseas during the night after his disappearance?

I've heard things about Presonus, dark things, bad things. They do Soprano type stuff to forum members who get out of line, often involving alligators, Cajun spices and endless feedback loops.

No sir. I don't like this one bit.

[That was a useful list. But it was also bad publicity to have it hanging around on the front page where everybody that's drinking the Kool Aid can see it and lose faith...]

I mostly stay away from this forum for exactly this reason. I'm not surprised it's happened again. No comment from the mods.

It's strange - the UAD forum has the same arrangement, independently run with only one UA rep popping in, who has no control over what is kept/deleted/changed. The mods there are, of course, very pro-UA, as you would expect. But dissent and criticism is certainly tolerated. Here, there seems to be some kind of paranoia that if anyone says anything bad about S1, it will affect them personally. Maybe it will, who knows what the financial or other arrangements are, but I don't like it.
S1 is a great product - I use it as my main DAW, even though I have active PT, Reaper and Logic licenses. But it certainly has problems, many of them longstanding. Rather than allowing posts to stand, which demonstrate those issues, (well or badly, carefully or angrily), there does seem to be a culture of censorship, justified by silence or assaults on the tone of posts or posters.
It may, perhaps, refelect the culture of PreSonus, which has then been absorbed by the people who run the forum, it's hard to tell. All I know is that for many years, the most critical voices have been silenced, instead of the problems being addressed.
I won't come back.

Some people just don't understand that open and clear communication about current limitations and issues about a product (i.e. known issues) eventually lead to a better understanding and broader acceptance within your customer base and would render this entire affair useless.

Perhaps soon there will be a thread titled
"What happened to the thread about What happened to the thread with all the bugs"

It seems the thread about the new UA Daw has been deleted as well. I'm having flashbacks to the old Cakewalk forums.

Absolutely disgusted with what is happening with threads such as the one mentioned disappearing.

Also Presonus as a company needs to get a grip on the damage it is potentialy doing to their company, when they fail to show any respect for their client base.
