The latest single release from my music project Tensivity is the Bach composition "Sheep May Safely Graze" arranged by Percy Aldridge Grainger in 1930-31 for military band in a work he titled "Blithe Bells."

As a recent immigrant to the US, Grainger was involved in US Army military bands in WWI and he learned firsthand the subtleties of color and texture that can be achieved by the instrumentation. In this work the composition starts with the "sheep bells" in simple thirds and grows until Grainger swallows the Bach, and makes something totally new and wonderful from it, then settles back to the opening theme for the quiet ending. It's one of the most remarkable miniature pieces of the Twentieth Century.

This is an older recording that's been on my "shelf" for a few years . It dates from a period when I was committed to producing my work solely with Notion, and so everything here is recorded and manipulated with Notion alone. All instruments are VST Special Edition, using the Notion presets for controlling articulations. I remastered the work using Harrison Mixbus 5 prior to release.

Thanks as always for listening and feedback on my work is always appreciated!

Mike
