So my Pal has just got into S1...Hurrah !...but...hes used to copy and paste in PT which apparently is slightly different to S1.

So...Duplicate just puts that section in the next bar right?....even if there is something there already...I tend to do this then drag to where I want it.

If I use selection tool, then copy ...move along the track a bit then paste, that doesn't quite do it as I need to select on the timeline first where I want it to go.

Is this how it is in S1 or am I missing something ?

Lot of ways to go.

When pasting I select the track then put the timeline where I want it to go then right click and paste.

For most everyday tasks alt-drag is a quicker way to copy things.

This is what I do too.

Only other thing I do is, if I want to copy/paste whole sections of a song, I'll name that section in the arranger window (like verse or whatever), then alt drag it over to where I want it. Bam. No cutting or selecting needed.
