This is from Respighi's Rossiniana Suite written in 1925. I've worked with this piece for years now, having downloaded it as a MIDI file when I first became interested in virtual orchestration, even before I knew about Notion. I recorded it four or five years ago using Miroslav Philharmonik in Ableton Live!

I've since converted the MID file, which is very good, actually, to a proper Notion score, which I've attached if anyone might be interested.

All the instruments used in this recording are Notion's own. They are really very good for basic mockups. I placed them using Vienna Symphonic Libraries MIRPro software, and applied a basic reverb, Valhalla Room, to a bus channel for a reverb tail enhancement to the convolution reverb from MIRPro. I like Valhalla Room, it's a very nice sounding inexpensive reverb, at just $50.

Next I'll work on the second movement of the work.

Enjoy and thanks for listening!

Michael, I wish to thank you for providing the Notion score of this state of the art prestation.
It gives hope to all of us weekend maestros! :-)

My own symphonic workhorse of yesteryear used to be the 2nd Movement of Beethoven's 7th. I started working on it when I acquired the E-Mu Proteus 2 XR in 1991. It was quite a change from the SoundBlaster. . . but still very far from what was possible with the wall-to-wall banks ot Akai sample players used by John Williams in his basement studio for his sophisticated orchestral synthesis work. . . :-(
This is why Karajan was never really afraid of me!

Thanks again

Marcato

Thanks for posting that link! I recall now that I too had a Proteus 1 once upon a time, maybe about 1990? Brings back memories!
