My Session Horns Pro samples get all mangled up after about fifteen minutes when using it in Studio One. I'm a Sonar refugee and I never had this problem before. I tried purging the sample pool, reloading all samples and nothing works. The only way to fix it is to close the song and reload it.

Anyone else have this problem and if so, is there a fix?

Peace!

No issues here using it on my PC, Win10 w/16 GB RAM. Haven't noticed any kind of wonky behavior with this. But everything NI is up to date here, as well. Maybe check that you are, too.

Also, my dropout protection is minimum. Buffer is at 64 or 128.

I use: Studio One Pro v4.1 & v3.56 on an i7 7700 win10 PC w16GB RAM and on a Mac Pro Tower (Sierra) w/RME & Focusrite interfaces.

When not loitering here, I can be found at: http://RolandK.ca

Thanks for your kind reply! My buffer is at 512. How would buffer size affect Konakt performance?

Peace!

Have you run Native Access for updates?

Studio One Pro 4, Faderport 1, Atom, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Maschine Studio, Octapad SPD-30, Roland A300, Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.
EVGA Geforce 1070 (Nvidia drivers). A bigly amount of other gear.

Yes, I'm at the latest version. It's driving me nutty! I also put in a help ticket with Native Instruments but the fact that it's working in Sonar and not Studio One is odd. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated! :?:

Unfortunately something working on X isn't going to help you when trying to get something working on Y. 90% it points to an underlying problem that hasn't been picked up by the other software (because it works a different way).

I can give you general performance tips.

1) If you have turbo features on your motherboard BIOS turn it off..
2) In Windows power saving advanced you will see CPU min/max. Make sure these are on 100%
3) Update your display and audio drivers.
4) Consider updating motherboard BIOS
5) Make sure your antivirus excludes DAW processes and files (do not disable).
6) Run windows update.
7) Goto Intel driver update website (or AMD equivalent).
8) Update Studio ONE.

Once you've done all this download a copy of process explorer and latency monitor and get troubleshooting.

Kontakt often throws in convolution reverbs into their presets .. removing them often saves on CPU.

Cheers.

Edit Probably won't help your samples getting mangled up though... And I'm not sure what it means. So I also suggest uninstall and reinstall.

I think you work with orchestral sound?
Just an extra tip:
Wait for the full load kontakt(s), before playing or editing your song

Are you suggesting I uninstall and reinstall Session Horns Pro or Kontakt?

Peace!

Either or both. I've just given you a number of suggestions for you to pick and choose upon. I can't supply a definite answer.

If you are removing and reinstalling via Native Access it's not a hard one to try.

You could also contact NI support.
Again not really sure what "mangled up" means.

Funny, I had this exact problem in Sonar but not in S1. Happened kind of randomly and I was never able to solve it.

Sorry PreAI for using the word "mangled" :( . By that it means that all of a sudden the sustained parts of the notes no longer play, I just hear that attacks. And eventually, I hear nothing.

Peace!

Cool, well above are only suggestions. It's a worthwhile exercise trying all of them anyway, you are likely to walk away with a better sysmte imho. Then I guess you go for NI support.

Cheers.

Yes I have the same problem but on Sonar Platinum. (Win 7, i7, 16gig). "Mangled" describes the symptoms very well.
Have you solved the problem yet? You're right.
It drives me crazy.

Do you have the Komplete Kontrol keyboard as well?

I'm not sure if it was the latest version of Komplete Kontrol or the latest update to S1 (as I got both at the same time), I now have to specifically select the model of my keyboard on each track's Instrument. I used to be able to just leave this to "All". If I leave it set to all, I get all kinds of wonky behavior. Selecting the exact model of keyboard fixes it.

(You have to have your keyboard defined, of course, in the MIDI settings of Studio 1).

Win10x64 (Eng), Studio One 3.5 / 4.1, 32GB DDR4 RAM, Intel i7 5820, nVidia 960, Focusrite 18i8. Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S88, Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S61, Presonus FaderPort 8.

Session Horns Pro is the biggest CPU Hog that NI produce. Do you have other instrument tracks on the go while this is happening, lastly what reading are you getting off your performance meter? I ask the question because I use it and only have 4 GB of RAM but I have to have all other tracks rendered (Frozen) before doing so.

People who can't dance always blame the band.

Check the Kontakt effects for convolution reverbs and delete them.
