Hey

I have a Studiolive 16.4-2 Ai, is there an upgrade for this device?
The firmware is now version 1.50a - Build: 190.

What universal control can I use for Windows 10 update.

Thank you.

Mvg

For UC Surface look here: http://www.presonus.com/support/downloads/StudioLive-1642AI. If you are using FireWire, do not install UC 2.x because of lag in metering; stay with UC 1.8.0. It is possible to use both UC versions simultaneoulsy, which is means UC 1.8 on computer and UC 2.1 on iPad.

The firmware is available only in your PreSonus account. The latest version is 9194.

Thank you for your reply.

I would like to include a firewire

Universal Control 1.8.3.40882 - PC

Universal Control 1.8.0.38751 - PC

Which of the two above should I install, for win 10

Kind regards.

Both versions should be ok, just the 1.8.3 has "Updated driver certificates for Windows 10 support", whatever that means.

Dear

I have the driver 1.8.3.40882 Win x86 installed (I have a PC 64Bit and Win 10) but I can not update, with the setup control Update Firmware I get no response.

I have connected the Firewire cable to the mixer 16-4-2 and the PC but I do not see the connection on the PC.

Can anyone help me further, use the studio and live shows.

Kind regards.

This is an article from the knowledge base, describing the "how to":

http://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/210048163-StudioLive-AI-mixer-Firmware-Update-via-USB-thumb-drive-

You can find this article in your PreSonus account also. It is important to do the firmware upgrade from the thumb drive/stick (not the WiFi dongle!) and to remove the option card before starting this process. Firmware upgrades online (through UC Surface or via my.PreSonus) can fail easily.

I hope that the FireWire connection works after the firmware upgrade.

Thank you.

The firewire is connected and works, but via Unversal control (1.8.3.40882-PC) I can not upgrade my 16-4-2 studiolife, there is also no USB connection on that mixing table, I think I have to continue with 1.50a build 190.
Kind regards.

I see, your mixer is a SL 16.4.2 and not a SL 16.4.2AI, as you wrote in your first post. The latest version of Universal Control (legacy version!) is 1.7.4 and firmware version "1.50a, build 190" - exactly what you are using. You find UC 1.7.4 on the download page.

Please check the information in your PreSonus account and in the Knowledge Base As the PreSonus software and Windows/Mac are drifting apart, there are problems known with the latest OS versions, so better check that first. It may need a complete uninstall of Universal Control 1.8. It is not possible to use UC 1.8 or UC 2.x with the legacy boards.

With UC 1.7.4 you will get the FireWire connection working again, no doubt.

Wahlerstudios

Sorry I misinformed you, glad you discovered this.

I installed the UC 1.7.4 Vs 5773 but it did not work, after that I installed the UC 1.7.2 5486, and then everything works.

Thank you for the assistance offered, it is highly appreciated.

Sincerely, and thank you

I am desperately looking for a download of the old firmware 1.50a build 190 and coming up empty. Does anyone know where this file can be found/downloaded?

You can find all firmware versions in your PreSonus account, when you have the mixer registered. Otherwise there is no chance to download firmware versions. Firmware is not "public".

I’m pretty sure that’s the latest firmware for the non-AI XX.4.2 mixers. So go to discontinued products, find e.g. the 16.4.2 mixer (no AI) and find the UC download on the downloads page. You may have to select an older OS for UC to show up.

There are no firmware files for Legacy StudioLive mixers.

UC provided ALL firmware upgrades.

All 1.7 versions of UC have the same firmware version. There have been no updates for Legacy Firmware since 2012 or so.
