I have downloaded the free version of Studio One. When the program opens each time, there are icons on some of the items which indicate, I think, that the program does not recognize the presence of my interface (Avid Fast Track Solo) and by extension, my mic and headphones. The list of functions and the icons disappear very quickly, so I can only guess what they really say. When I open a new song, activate the track, and begin recording, no wave form appears. When I look under preferences, the only one listed is "Windows Audio". When I click on that, I see my interface listed, but, as I said, I can't get the program to show any wave form. I have Adobe Audition CS6 on the computer, and it works fine. I would guess that there is a list, called "Preferences" or whatever, which may contain the key as to how I can make the connection. Part of my problem is that I don't know how or even where to find this list. Is the secret to this problem to be found in Studio One? In Audition? In Windows 8? I need help from someone who knows a lot more than I do about all this stuff (I'm a voiced actor, NOT a technician.
