It lights up ok but has no output sound. Maybe the tube is bad ? it looks like its glowing a dark orange but i cant tell. Wish i had one of those old tube testers you just plug into. any hints ?

The tube is the first thing that I would check. One of the good things about the Tube Pre is that it uses a VERY common tube - the 12ax7. If you happen to have access to a guitar amp with a 12ax7, you can just pull the tube out of the amp and try it with the Tube Pre before you spend any money on a replacement.

If that doesn't work, you can open a support ticket at support.presonus.com and our guys will be glad to help further troubleshoot or set up a repair ticket for you.
