I just bought a brand new USB96, trying to connect to a Dell XPS windows 11 laptop with only USB-C ports.

When I plug the 96 into an Anker USB-C 5-in-1 adapter, it is not recognized in any USB port.

When I plug the 96 into the generic adapter that came from Dell, it does work, and is recognized by the Universal Controller.

Why do you suppose that is?

Some USB devices work fine plugged into external hubs but audio interfaces generally work best plugged directly into a USB port on a computer. Check the specs for your laptop and the external hub to see if the USB ports are USB 2.0 compatible because the AudioBox 96 has a USB 2.0 port.

Trucky is right. Very often external hubs do not work well. It can be a connectivity or a power issue.
Your Audiobox may simply not be getting enough power from the Anker. I've always had much better luck with external hubs and docking stations that have their own power supplies.
