Does anyone know if it's possible to use an adaptor to go from XLR to 3.5mm jack with the headset input? I'm guessing it doesn't offer 48v on this input though?

The IO44 would be *perfect* for me if it had 2 XLR combo inputs plus the 2 line inputs. Trying to figure out if I could make it work.

Was thinking like this :

I'd say no for dynamic and condenser mics. Impedances won't go together well and there's probably a bias voltage on the microphone part of the TRRS socket which won't work for condenser mics and will affect dynamic mics negatively.

It would work with a good quality electret microphone though, one that works off a bias voltage rather than with phantom power. But these mics usually don't come with XLR plugs but with mini-jacks in various configurations.
