The first track I made in Studio One.

I did the composition, recording, mixing and the mastering all in Studio One.

My ears are shot Jeff so please take what I say with a pinch of salt LOL. I like the song and your vocals which I believe need to stand out more in the mix. To help achieve that I would drop the bass guitar down a little. Not sure what that synth is over on the right but I would narrow it down in the panning infact I would try narrowing down and positioning all the instruments so that they sit in their own space a little more, if you know what I mean. Basically if all the instruments run into each other on the panning they create a wall of sound. Binaural Panning (Browse/Effects) is perfect for achieving that by adjusting not only the panning but the width. For a 1st track this is excellent. Keep up the great work.
Best,
Gerry

Thank you the feedback. Really helpful and things for me to think about when I write and mix the next song.

You did what you set out to do and that's great.
I like the song and playing.
Who is the lead singer?
For your first song, this is really good. I'll hold other comments until you produce more songs.
For now, you should be really pleased.

Thank you for the feedback. It is really appreciated.
I did write a few songs, around 20, back in the 90’s - but my recording/mixing process was basically a single take into a hi-if tape recorder and even worse I did the vocals. Though I used to live near to 70’s legend Edwin Starr, who gave me encouraging feedback at the time.
For the last 20 odd years, I have just pottered with sounds, chords and melodies; so this challenge allowed me to focus my energy on producing and finishing a song. The encouraging feedback on this forum and other sources, has really helped my confidence, and I will definitely be writing more songs.
I understand that my mixing skills are not the best and need tuning; but the excellent feedback has got me excited to write a new song and evolve my mixes.
Your feedback on the song and playing is really appreciated too, especially as I only started learning the guitar in January.

The singer is Ciara Moon - https://soundbetter.com/profiles/366417-ciara-moon
