I'm trying to detect, and subsequently map, the tempo of one section of a recording.

My track has multiple songs that were recorded in a live event. I cut the event at the beginning and end of a song. Then bounce or unlink that event so it's not still part of the full track.

Then edit with melodyne. But when I do that, in melodyne, all the tempo info is grayed out. The tempo window at the top just shows the DAW tempo and key and doesn't detect any of the tempo.

Is there some setting or way to get it to detect tempo for this event? So I can drag that tempo up to the tempo track?

Thanks, gabo
