I have the same issue with my Logi MX Ergo trackball. My Logi M570 trackball works fine.

You learn something new every day! I just found out that on the Logi MX Ergo trackball the buttons for Forward and Back scroll horizontally in Studio One.

It is working here with my Logitech G502 but under Windows.
I will check it later under macOs

I have an MX Ergo as well. Have you downloaded the control software. It lets you customize these features.

In truth this is my second MX Ergo. Very recently I purchased the MX Ergo plus. As far as I can tell the only thing different is an extra piece of plastic. But that cheap piece of plastic raised the price at least $20 at bestbuy. But anyway my control software took to it great as well as my keyboard and everything is working even my custom settings.

The weird thing is that it works in every other program BUT Studio One.

That’s a good point. When mine failed I always assumed it was the mouse. I never considered that the issue might have been studio one

I have the control software, but I don't see any way to change the scroll wheel setting to work with Studio One to make it scroll horizontally.

You have to uninstall the logitech options software.. sounds weird, but after that it will work.

EDIT: It blows my mind that PreSonus or Logitech STILL hasn't fixed this issue. I had this problem back in 2015.. so it's been 5 years!

SOLVED

I uninstalled the Logitech Options driver and installed SteerMouse v5 instead which lets me configure the buttons and scroll speed and so on without Options. Now it works as expected.

Really strange however that Studio One is the only daw that doesn't work with Logitechs driver.

UPDATE / NOT SOLVED
Uninstalling Logitech options resulted in inexact mouse behaviour in various apps so I had to reinstall Logitech options. As the MX mouse is my weapon of choice I guess I give up my Studio One excursion for now.

I have the same problem. I cant scroll while holding shift and scroll with the mousewheel. I have 2 logitech mouse and both doesent work.
Yes im on OSX.
In logic, bitwig, ableton, reason, cubase and even in Luna it works perfect.
In studio one it works only in the melodyne editor.
For me this is a bug in studio one. Any solution for this?

I noticed that everyone on this post is using a Mac. Is this a Windows issue or does the horizontal scroll work for MX mouse in Studio One?

Having the same problems described above with my Logitech M650.

Fixed this by uninstalling Logi Options+.

I may have changed the keyboard short cut trying to fix it, does anyone know what its called? I'm on a mac, logitech MX masters 2S won't work even after uninstalling logitech tools
