Hi Everyone,
I've just finished another original track, "Neural Arc". It's a mix of styles; some is a bit Zawinul, some a bit Corea, some a bit electro, there's even rock elements at the end. I've decided to release this one as a single rather than wait for an album. It's available now on all major streaming platforms. Please have a listen (it's got a few different sections so please don't switch off after 10 seconds!) 👍 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/0Z10lKqP ... r3cSbzmjrQ Apple Music: https://music.apple.com/gb/album/neural ... 1512928393 YouTube Music: https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=hh2B3 ... ture=share

2 thumbs up from me! You sure know how to bring a lot of elements together,
have them flow into each other, and build interest. Expansive, disparate influences all made into a cohesive whole. That's harder to do than many realize. I don't know if this is silly, but I imagine you performing with Frank Zappa. Too bad that this is not possible right now, but maybe you could ring up Dweezil, or maybe Steve Vai |
Your production/mix, soundscape and musicianship is stellar.
This has a lot more movement than I'm used to for this style... more progressive to the smooth jazz genre. On first listen it had a few jarring moments but you resolved them nicely. My favorite is the end part with the underlayment of power chords and the theremin? effect.

Nice work! Really enjoyed that. Lots of movements and great playing.
Superb mix. Hats off! |
Thanks for listening guys - appreciate the comments 👍
How did you all find the top end? I pushed the "sparkle" a little more than I usually do...

pwheeler wroteThanks for listening guys - appreciate the comments 👍 Listened on two different environments: 1. Budget Alesis Elevate 3 monitors (3" speakers in an untreated bedroom) - Excellent clarity, even at fairly low levels. Maybe a tad bright, but if this was on the radio, I would choose a preferred listening volume, and probably not reach for the EQ. 2. On Audio Technica ATH-M30x headphones, everything sits perfectly. Wouldn't touch a thing. |
Thanks Sirmonkey - after 20 years of gigs next to a loud drummer I don't trust my ears at the top end anymore!

Just listened again with my ATH-M50's and the top end sounded great.
Nice low-end too! |
Thanks Bbd - good to have reassuring feedback about the mix 👍
