OK, I can confirm one thing. There is, in fact, a version 4.6.

Enjoy.

I did a marathon work day yesterday and am resting my head by ranting on these forums.

It's very relaxing. :D

Also just noticed, Reaper 6.0 dropped yesterday. But not at Red Bull Studios. :p

A day off for me, and that really isn't the point. I could care less about the update. I'm more interested in the mystery of it. If it's marketing, then it's worked.

HA. I actually agree with that. I had a LONG week so far. So I hear ya.

At least we have confirmation that there is a 4.6. So there's that. Now, just look at it as waiting for Christmas and opening your present. Think about how exciting that will be. lol.

Thing is, like most people here, I read about the S1 4.6 release HERE on this forum. And it stated matter of factly that December 4, 2019 was the "launch" party. Since then, no one has officially countered that public impression, which is why we're here today with puzzled faces, instead of nearer to Christmas.

I look forward to more puzzlement in the future. :)

It's easy to forget that fact with the music blaring and their  flashing.

I can't tell whether you're trying to be funny, or the other thing.

Care to elaborate?

As for this thread, it's late here on Wed. Dec. 04, and apparently no one has installed Studio One 4.6 today. In other words, the "launch" of the product was not really a launch at all, but perhaps a private preview that was hyped to appear to be more than it was.

I say this because marketing terms are not accidental. When a "launch" occurs, one assumes that the product is also available. I think Red Bull was not launching anything except false expectations from the rest of us who happened on their promotional advertising to drum up business via a mailing list and a localized event.

That being said, I use Studio One almost exclusively, so it's not like I don't have a horse in this race. I like getting new features, and I certainly like to see things getting fixed when they're broken.

Despite my expectations, that did not happen today. Maybe some of you feel a similar disappointment in being met only with silence. I, for one, find that it breeds distrust.

Also, it's okay to speak up, demand answers, or even be pissed off when something seems unfair, whether the other monkeys in the troupe like it or not. I'm not here to please them. And as some of you here already know, I'm neither a wallflower or a passive spectator. :)

Thank god for dissent. Without it, we'd all be living in some version of North Korea.

'Twisted' or 'evil' flashing? Does not compute.....

My flashing is around the chimney/roof interface and along the kitchen extension roof/house wall interface - and that is currently more real (and hopefully of less concern) than the now fabled S1v4.6.

Yes - I'm being deliberately pedantic, what else is one supposed to do after the fingernails have gone in eager anticipation (not) of S1v4.6 :D

Hope that helps

p.s. I'm not from HQ or North Korea - just in case you were wondering!

Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Faderport, Focal Alpha 50's, Korg Pa3x, Korg Pad Kontrol, numerous guitars, basses & other antiquated outboard gear.
Maybe one day I'll actually finish a project!

And Presonus marketed this how?

It's not even on Press Center main site page.
No emails to user base - nothing.

No clue how OP found this event -- seems like fake news.

It was an event. If I was in London I woulda gone and said hi. It probably went mostly unnoticed to people who aren't obsessing over anything Studio One related so they can snark about it on the forum :)

I would say that PreSonus official facebook page is valid enough as source considering it's what they usually use for livestreaming.

It’s like a bad imitation of Spitfire Audio.

I think part of the reason you are seeing such obsessive behavior is that:

1 - Presonus has always been the no BS DAW company that said what they will do and did what they said. Until the 10 Year Anniversary Announcement Video fiasco of earlier this year, I had never felt “hype and vapor” marketing from them. Not once. And that is saying something as I’ve been using S1 since version 1. They’ve always been on the up and up about their announcements.

2 - Following on the heels of that earlier fiasco, this has a similar feel of BS marketing. That is a worrisome trend. Once can be random. Twice is a trend. The third time it’s a practice.

3 - It’s totally unnecessary. The only people who would really pay attention to a point release are existing users. You got us already, we don’t need to be hyped.

4 - The moderator’s flippant comments are not smart for the business. If he/she is a Presonus employee, they have failed to maintain the proper separation between being a forum member and representing the company. (If they don’t work for Presonus they can say whatever they like.)

5 - I agree with the previous poster (Roland1?) that no official comment either here or on FB is really disappointing. They have historically been quick to be relatively responsive and transparent and own mistakes. It’s one of the things that separates them from the likes of Avid, Apple, and Steinberg.

Now I’m sure someone will say some pithy sh*t like “where do you find the time to write this stuff” “go make some music”, etc. This took me about 10 minutes to write before I start my day. I found the time because I care enough to do so.
