Can anyone confirm this please. I´m on Mac 10.10.5, Studio one 3.3.1 and gets an unexpected quit when I do the following:

1. Open pool in the browser window
2. Loop on, longer than one bar!
3. Press record before the loop starts

You will then get an unexpected quit when the cursor reaches the end of the loop.
This only happens when the loop is set longer than one bar, if the loop it shorter it works normal.

Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.5, MacBook Pro i7 Processor 2.7 GHz, 16 Gb Ram, MacBook Air i5 Processor 1,4 GHz, 4 Gb ram, Focusrite Clarett 8Pre, Presonus StudioLive RM 32 AI, Studio One Pro 3.3.1, Yamaha HS8, BeyerDynamic DT 770 & 880.

As mentioned in the other looping thread I am not seeing this behaviour at all. This all works normally for me. No crashing, just recording of takes to layers as per normal.

Ok, perhaps it´s a Mac thing, since I know "leonseaman" from the looping thread experienced the same unexpected quit as I do, and I think he was on a Mac as well. Would be great to have some people with Macs trying this one out!

No one else that have this bug? I know it´s not an important one since most people never record with the browser window open, but if it is a bug it might be good to get rid of it perhaps.

Yes, i get this issue too, as discussed in the other thread where you noted it originally.

I'm running MacOS Sierra, and Studio One 3.3.

It's something that wouldn't normally occur as i wouldn't have the pool open when recording, however it's consistent in it's manner of crashing.

Yes, I probably never would have noticed it in normal usage of studio one since I also never record with the browser open. But perhaps it´s good to get rid of as many bugs as possible :) Let´s see if there are other Mac people who get the same unexpected quit.

Trying to get this to just The minimum steps to demonstrate the issue.

Does opening the pool have anything to do with it?
It is most likely a Mac only bug that happens quite often so we won't want to change the title to be clear or two mac users.

If you can't edit the title I can with your permission.

Yes, it only happens if the pool is open in the browser. You are most welcome to edit the title.

Ok, I think I forgot to mention that I´ve only tried this without being hooked up to any of my audio interfaces, if that could make a difference? But the unexpected quit happens on both of my computers.

I'm consistently getting the crash during loop recording. I've tried different instruments. It always crashes when using a 4-bar loop. I couldn't get it to crash with a shorter loop. I did not have the pool open.

I did not encounter any problems when trying this with the following steps taken.

1) Set up a vst instrument
2) Set up a 4 bar loop starting from bar no 4
3) Armed tracks with monitoring enabled
4) Made sure the pool was open in the browser
5) Recorded instrument midi parts using 'Record Mix' and also 'Record takes to layers' from bar no.1

No crash at all, on my system.

Best,
Scott

It seems it only crashes when recording audio, please try that. And I´ve also noticed it actually doesn´t matter how long the loop is, what matters is how long the recording is. So when you record longer than one bar S1 crashes.

No sorry, it seem it needs to record 1,5 bar to crash.

YES! It does indeed crash when recording an audio source, with pool window open in browser and setting up a loop in my instance 2 bars, and recording takes to layers.

Amazingly, this bug still seems to be active: latest versions of Mojave and S1, recording audio, loop active, Studio One crashes to desktop when the loop restarts... but only if the Pool tab is open. Switching to any other tab: effects, instruments, etc. and it no longer crashes.
