Is there a way to render all stems without having to go back and lower all my volume automations due to clipping? I know you can lower the main or render in 32 bit float without the mix clipping. But I would love it if I can lower all track volumes together, so the stems don't clip. The mix is perfect, and I hate to have to go lower everything that's not automated together, then try and lower the stems that have volume automation again to sound perfect in the mix. I would have to do all my automations over again.

Or is there an easier way to render the stems without them clipping, and without having to redo all my volume automations again at a lower level?

Thanks so much!

Are you on S1 4.5 or higher?

If so you can display the Input Controls (via the Wrench Icon) in the Mix Console, select the first/last fader/track with the Shift key (creating a temporary group) and adjust the gain control for all tracks at once. When you have the temp group, you can adjust one control and they will all follow.

After your Export, reverse the process, zero out all the controls (when grouped, Ctrl/Cmd + Click on any one control will zero them all), then hide them again.

Easy, not obvious at first.

OMG Donald, you're an angel sent straight from Heaven!! This has been my only issue with S1, and now no longer an issue! I create Trailer Music and I try to start off at levels I feel will work in the end without clipping the channels. But with Trailer Music everything gets bigger and bigger, before you know it, I have 70+ tracks and I don't want to have to redo the volume automations on just to get clean stems. I can't tell you how happy I am S1 4.5 has this new feature, and how grateful I am for your kindness and knowledge. THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR!

Thanks, but credit is due to the PreSonus team for adding that feature in 4.5.

I just know about it and use it.

I was in a hurry yesterday or I would have posted screenshots, but happy you made it happen via the text. (Always tougher... doing what you want is very easy, but not so obvious to people who haven't done it once...)

Keep making music! :)

Another alternative way would be to create one VCA for all channels and do it that way.

It’s good to have choices :)

I understand how the master level can run away when adding a large number of track counts etc, it happens to me sometimes with my orchestral arrangements.

Best,
Scott
