AudioBox 1818VSL, 44VSL and 22VSL

Hi:)

I can't find any Signal Flow Chart, so does anybody know which signals are going to ADAT OUT??

ADAT IN are coming 8 Tracks from an external ADAT Box, especially Presonus Digimax, but are the 8 MIC Inputs from 1818vsl going to the 8 ADAT Outs??

I connected ADAT IN/OUT with my RME HDSP and I get 8 Tracks ADAT In from RME, but no signal goes out to RME.

So what is this ADAT OUT Port for, when there is no signal to it?? For sure you can send Tracks from the DAW to the ADAT Outs, but much more sense would be to send the 8 Inputs to the ADAT Outputs to cascade 2 Audiboxes together for having 16 Input Tracks!

Thanks;)

Pre-amps to ADAT OUT. Another box connected via ADAT IN outputs its signals to USB - not the 1818s ADAT OUTS.

I've only used the 1818 to output 8 tracks of audio via USB into Auria - 16 if I have a second box connected via ADAT IN on the 1818. What is the perceived advantage of using the ADAT OUTS for 16 tracks into your DAW instead of USB? I know this isn't really an answer to your question. I'm trying to understand what you are trying to accomplish since 2 boxes connected together - ADAT out to ADAT in to USB out - yields 16 tracks out to your DAW.

@THX1136

16 Inputs from USB from 2 Audioboxes?? That's what I want:)
Is it really possible?
So how do I connect 2 Audioboxes?

Audiobox 1 (8 Tracks Audio) --> ADAT Out -->
Audiobox 2 (ADAT In) (+Another 8 Tracks Audio) --> USB to PC (= 16 Tracks Audio) ??

Can you confirm this? This is not written anywhere, instead I've seen in a forum that 2 Audioboxes 1818 can not be cascaded, only firewire audioboxes..

viewtopic.php?f=157&t=16192&p=88963&hilit=two+1818#p88963

But it would be very nice, if it works, so I can buy a second Audobox 1818 instead of a Digimax DP8 or DP88?

Thanks,
Bassman.

HI:)

Quoted from the owners manual:
"When recording or playing back at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz, the ADAT I/O
on the AudioBox 1818VSL will provide 8 audio channels over the
optical inputs and outputs.

The MIC Preamps of my 1818vsl are not routed to the ADAT Out Ports!

But! Cause I need the Virtual Mixer, I have installed the old 1.3 driver for it.

Does it depend on the driver version for routing the Preamps to ADAT Out??

Thanks for answers;)

2 1818 will not chain together. The PC will only sync to one, so the only expansion is via adat.
