Beautiful Piano & Guitar.

To me there seems to be some low or low mid resonance in the vocals especially the male vocal.

I like where your going with this though.

I really like it. Nice job.
John Lennon came to mind.
If I was to produce this, I would keep all your parts and performance.
For the mix, I would pan the acoustic piano hard left or right (George Martin style with some early Beatles). Pan its reverb center or hard right.
I would also pan the strings hard right.
Check the bass mids as there is some 400hz energy that needs a look.
Good luck with the mastering. I think they can do good with your mix as is. It gives them room to play with it.

What kind of guitar & mic combination did you use?

I used Avantone CR14 (ribbon) on my vox (male) and a Warm Audio WA87 on the female one both going into a tube preamp. used SM57 on the acoustic. :)

This is really nice. It reminds me of Anathema and Porcupine Tree a bit.
The frequency issues should be solved by the mastering engineer.
Excellent songwriting, well done
