done in S1P4,
3rd mix on this one,
i'm about finished with this one,
depending on comments and suggestions

the soundcloud playback sound deeper in the bass,
than it does on my playback,
low end may need taming.
i'm thinking about adding some grind to the bass that isn't there,
and maybe that will bring out some upper harmonics without adding clang.

i had this stereo drum file, and pushed out hard left and right, the way it was written, the drums sounded washed out...
i used the DUAL PAN plug, and brought the drums inwards about 30%, and think it sounds MUCH better.
first time using this plug, any thoughts?

Guess I'm first in.
Bat,
Not clear in upper, mid, and low low's.
Compare to this (couldn't quickly find a better example - sorry).

Just A/B them and listen to the clarity and ease to listen to the bottom.
Just a thought for you.
I think I have commented on this song of your a few times. I love what you do. Think maybe your listening environment is way different than mine!

Listened on my cans which actually produces lows:
Sounds great to me. 95% of the time, I agree with Bbd by 95% to 100%....but it all sounds clearly defined to me, this time including the kicks. If I really, really strain to find some critique, maybe you could nudge up the bass guitar a bit. but you know me...at least a little...I always want that!
But in all sincerity, sounds great. Sounds finished to me :punk:

alright Bbd! thanks for chiming in on this one...
man, 'rock you like a hurricane' brings back some memories for sure!
but this is a perfect example of '80's rock', and this is about 180 degrees opposite of where i want to take my music at present....

but i hear what you mean about tonal balance, i do...

as it is, because of your comment, i decided to do a new session and record a new bass line, which has taken this mix in a completely new direction.....
so, even tho i would never want my stuff to sound like vintage scorpions ( i love scorpions), it is an interesting viewpoint for sure.

Ha!
I only linked to that song as something to A/B to. I don't think you sound like them :P
Glad you will revisit your bass part and mix.
Good luck with that.
;)

hey monkey!
bass guitar up a bit, check.
now that i've retracked the bass,
it sits really nice in the mix,
i'll have to do a remix, and repost this one soon.

thanks for helping
