Guys please help.
I watched the YouTube video on how to setup an iPad to a Series 3 mixer via an ethernet wired connection. This one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZCkg2IYzF4 But here's the thing. Most venues for live shows will not have ethernet connections available. They only have WIFI. So what I want to do and have tried without any luck is to: 1. Connect a portable WIFI router to an existing WIFI network. The product I got is TP Link AC750 Wireless Travel Router (2.4GHz and 5GHz modes available). I only set this up for 2.4GHz. They suggest putting this router into "Client Mode". See these diagrams / instructions. https://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-2031.html 2. Take the ethernet output of the TP Link WIFI router and connect it to the Presonus Series 3 Mixer port. This should work right? I should be able to connect my iPad to this WIFI network I created and launch UC Surface right? Thanks in advance for you help as I found little info online about how to troubleshoot this issue. |

Nobody??? I am going to try this setup again tonight. But it would be really helpful if Presonus would be more clear about UC surface with iPads in real world situations. The Series 3 requires you to have a wifi router which means you have to figure out how to have a mobile setup and quickly connect it without any ethernet in a live venue setting. I'm hoping that the "Client mode" will work but Presonus needs to step it up with support on this.

It is NOT THE GOAL to join an existing network, but to create a network exclusively for your PreSonus gear. The router is needed for two things:
1) It provides the (dynamic) IP addresses and 2) it provides the network for wired and wireless devices. An Internet connection is not needed or wanted. You should start by using dynamic IP addresses (it doesn't need more), because this is the easist way to connect everything to your network. Remember that the router has to boot fully BEFORE you start any other device. It makes sense to add the 5 GHz option, because 2.4 GHz is over-crowded and you may get problems in a venue. I am no specialist for routers and networks, but I hope this helps.

Thanks will try tonight. I spoke with Presonus tech support and confirmed what you wrote. Good to note about the power cycling. I will report on my results.
