Will a mic with a xlr to 1/4" cable(1/4 would plug into the audiobox not the mic) work properly with the audiobox? After reading the quote below from the owners manual it seems that I would need a xlr input? Can the settings be changed so the 1/4 input is recognized as a mic or is a xlr cable needed?

"Instrument Inputs. The ¼-inch TS connectors on channels 1 and 2 are for use with instruments (guitar, bass, etc.). When an instrument is plugged into the instrument input, the mic preamp is bypassed, and the AudioBox USB becomes an instrument preamplifier"

you need an xlr cable. Like it says, the mic preamp is bypassed if you plug in a 1/4" cable.

It will work, but your mic signal will be very low, maybe even inaudible. Definitely get a balanced XLR cable so you can connect to the XLR mic input.

Hope that helps.
