Hey all!

I want to announce my EP, which was recorded with Studio One through the Studio 2/6 interface.

This is our first ever EP release and was composed and produced from start to finish in the last 10 months. Some of us have been playing together since we were in 4th grade (oh the memories). Since I'm moving far away from the group of friends, we decided that this special project was the right send-off.

We're not trying to be the next big band or do anything crazy. We just want to share some musical culture with people around us. So if you enjoy the complimentary listen on our site (linked below), please feel free to pick up a copy of this very special Vinyl edition of our EP "Riversong."

We really hope you enjoy! Please feel free to chat with me about this release.

I don't have an mp3 to attach using the audio tags, but you can hear the track "Brave" on our website:

or
http://bynorthwest.creatorlink.net/

And thank you so much for taking a listen. We put our hearts into this.

It should be working. I just checked it on different computers. :/ Let's try this: http://bynorthwest.creatorlink.net/

If there's something preventing you from getting to my site, I would like to figure out why. I haven't coded anything weird into it that should cause this issue. When you click the link, what kind of error are you getting? Many apologies.

@Black_Haus - Also, I just checked out your band. Fantastic work! Do you produce on your own? The balance is spectacular.

That last link worked for me.

It's not quite my usual cup of tea but it has a fresh sound. Reminded me in places of Simon and Garfunkel (good thing in my books).

I know it's all finished and you didn't specifically ask for feedback but, I have to say in sections it sounded a bit harsh and distorted on my headphones. This was particularly evident in the louder sections (around 2:48 for example) It may be what you were going for or it may be an artefact of the web player but for me personally it detracted from the lovely quieter sections with the vocals.

Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much for your fine comments. A comparison to S&G is quite the compliment. I grew up listening to lots of 60s bands including S&G and others like Chad and Jeremy, so I totally understand how this came out in the music. There's nothing better than good harmony, in my book.

This is the first time I've ever attempted to mix, so I've been learning so much. I always value feedback like what you have provided. I definitely added this harmonic percolator distorted kind of effect to some of the parts and tried not to overdo it! I will take your notes with me as I continue to progress. Thank you again. :)

Victor, the links are working for me now.

I like the song. The lyrics and vocals are good. There is a lot of emotion in them which makes you want to hear what the song is about.

Sure, there are many ways this could be mixed or produced differently but I think what you've done with it kind of fits the music and the song. I'm no expert on music in this genre or style but if it's a good song I can dig it.

For me this type of music is all about he feel, the story and the emotion in the song, not really about the perfect mix or a Hi-Fi sound. At least that's my perspective on it. Don't take that the wrong way though because I think it sounds good.

Are you familiar with Conor Oberst and Bright Eyes? Your vocals reminded me of him a little.

Thank you for checking out my music. I haven't done anything with the full band in a couple years. My last project "Relix & Revolutions" was all me except for one tune. "Tearing Down the World" I did with input from the other guys in the band of course and our sound man also provided some valuable advice and help That was my first time recording & producing a full band. I'm still learning as I think we all are.

Also, your website and the Album cover look very good. Nice, professional job you've done with it.

Thank you so much for your comments! I'm doing one final pass and then handing it over to my mastering guy. Your observations are invaluable.

Very original piece. I like the genre description of ‘alternative low-country’ and ‘neo-Americana' - never heard those terms before but they fit the music. I bet the band is enjoyable to see live.

Thanks for sharing and good luck with the EP!

Thank you so much for listening! These songs are very fun to play live and are usually pretty different than other bands in the lineup. It's really fun to hear what everyone else is up to musically.

Please feel free to check back at the end of February for the rest of the EP! It will be available on all major streaming outlets.
