This has happened from time to time.
If i turn on the SUB37 when im in a song, S14 just shuts down without warning.
When i turn on the Faderport 8 when im in a song, S14 freezes and no responding.

Anyone else here who experience such things?

USB devices have to be hooked up before you run DAW software.

That's why I like using legacy midi ports, you can plug them in whenever you want to.

Maybe that's changed but that's the way it been.

Your specs show you using Studio One 3.X. What exact version is it?

I would remove and re-install your external instruments and Fader Port. Make sure you have their latest drivers and firmware.

When you test, try to disable any programs running in the background that could be interfering with Studio One.

If these suggestions don't help, please open a Support ticket.

That's the same as plugging it in.

I am using S14, i have updated the specs now.
I always update drivers to the latest versions.

I had this thing also in S13
There is something funky going on with usb devices causes system instability.
Thats why i always try to remember to turn them on before opening Studio One.
I am just curuios if this is "normal" usb device behaviour or if its my computer thats got issues.

Normal behavior is subjective in that I don't have issues on my side with USB connected devices.
Did you try removing them and re-installing? If you did already, then I would open a support ticket.
Thanks.

In V4 I can turn on Faderport 8 after Studio One is booted and nothing happens other than the Faderport will not be functional. I just have to go External devices and reconnect and then all is fine. It is best to ensure all your USB devices are ON before you boot Studio One.

Yep. There isn't a DAW I've tried that deals with this stuff in an elegant way. In Win anyway. I can't speak for Mac stuff.

Freezes and crashes are almost always a driver problem regardless of the DAW. That's my experience anyway.

Actually a USB device that is normally ON when you boot Studio One will pass the boot up procedure on the start page. Any that are supposed to be ON and are not, will show up pretty obviously with a big yellow exclamation mark during the boot up procedure. That should be a clue. One should watch the boot up procedure. It will often reveal something like this that has been accidentally turned off.

I was having the same issue. Just purchased Faderport 16. Open studio one 4 and it keep freezing.
I used a different USB cable and everything works now great. It seems that the UUB is the problem
