I've never really seen a definitive (and up to date!) answer

Does anyone here know if M-tron Pro is 64bit VST3 (at this date), and if it runs OK with Studio One (particularly 4.0.1)?

M-Tron Pro is VST2 and 64-bit on Windows. Don't believe it's VST3. VST3 really doesn't offer a whole lot over VST2 when it comes to instruments anyway IMO. In fact, in some ways, it's even worse (can't use traditional MIDI Learn for instance). There's this assumption that VST3 is an upgraded version of VST3, but it's pretty much a different format and has different pros and cons. I use VST3 versions for effects but have been sticking to VST2 instruments.

Thanks everyone :)

As is the nature of such things, I have another question (which has only just occurred to me).

Does anyone know how many seats/activations the 'licence' is for?. Couldn't see any info like that in their site (unless I'm being blind or stupid)

Being as how it costs £116 from GForce, I would not be buying it if it is only single-seat, since I have 2 systems and I really don't want to pay out £232 for two copies

You are not blind or stupid! I agree the site does not mention it anywhere. I did find an email address for sales and have shot off an email to them asking this very question. I am interested myself. I will let you know what I find out.

I run a Mac and PC install of Studio One. Many of the plugins and virtual instruments that I have allow you both the Mac and PC versions to be both installed. Many allow more than one PC install as well. They should in my opinion.

Waves is a bit weird in that regard though. You can run an install on more than one machine but not at the same time. So if you want to use Waves stuff on another machine you have to move the licenses from one to the other hence the one you have moved from will no longer work. And then move them back to make them work again. A bit fiddly and to be honest not worth he trouble. Its hard enough getting Waves to work properly without doing this.

Update
I heard back from them You are allowed to install on a second computer so there you go. Apparently you don't find this out until you are doing the actual install. They did thank me for letting them know there is no info on this and they will include it soon I believe.
