Bumped this up - for this weekend. ;)
It seems there's few of us who actually comment on songs posted here, so maybe this got missed last weekend?
Then again, maybe nobody is interested in Pop Jazz and if so, that's OK. 8-)

From a production point of view, I like the quality of the sound you have achieved. Unfortunately though, for some reason or other, I have a severe aversion to anything 'Jazz' .. it's hard to explain but it means I really can't comment on the piece itself lol

thanks for sharing though :)

Thanks for reading this jps.

I agree. There's not much jazzy stuff in here.

I'm not a jazz fan either but I 'can' do a few more things than just 4/4 rock.

This song came about when trying to accommodate a desire of my last singer. It was 70% complete, he quit, but I said what the heck. ;)

I thought it was good. It did not hold me thru the whole piece. You have plenty of instruments. I take it like a creative instrumental and not too seriously.
The mix has some bite to it in the upper mids that kept me from cranking it up. I am listening on Eris 3.5's and a sub. Didn't use my cans. If I were to master it, I would take out -2db @ 3K, widen the whole thing like at 120% (to get the center pushed back a bit), and see if the very bottom could use +2 @ 60db. That kind of thing. Not really necessary but just my suggestions.

I'm not so happy with the chord progression going on at 1.03 but love the lead instrument coming in at 1.24, giving me a bit of old King Crimson feeling. Thanks for sharing.

Hey thnx so much for listening Bbd and Oliver.

Bbd, I do tend to slightly boost the mids since that's what most systems can produce be it cheap headphones or something from Magnolia Hi Fi. I went back & forth with the low level. I agree it could use more now that it's been a few weeks.

Q: So how do I widen it more than it is - to as you say 120%?

Oliver yeah the chord progression there is a 3 half step, standard descending thing... it was one of the first 'jazzy' things I learned on guitar and thought I'd place it here. I'm fine if they all can't be hits. ;)

That piece is pretty cool. I think you might consider arpeggiating that chord progression on the guitar. I felt like the strumming on those chords was fighting the smooth feel of the song.

Darn, Bbd beat me to it, Binural Pan it !
I would have liked the Bass to get cranked up a little and just a little dist on the whole as it gets a tad too smooth for my ears, but then again you know my style.... Maybe dist on the bows 8-)
I liked it as is on the first listening though.
