Yes!
I really like the groove/tempo... quite upbeat. Typically myself, I'd add another part or 2. Some simple parts would be a solo or sub in another instrument. There's a hole when some tracks drop out ~1:40 - which to me, sounds out of place. The "whish" (or a symbol?) @ ~2:30 sounds cool... do a few more of those.

I definitely like the song. I don't know why you wonder if you should keep going. And I really don't have any criticisms of your playing.
I'm not a big fan of the volume swells, though. It sounds like you automated compression to create the volume sweeps. Is that what you did? Maybe I'm way off. But would would rather hear a ride of your guitar volume knob (okay, that's not so easy to do...I have tried, and failed, so far, on a few pieces). Or maybe a slide up and/or down to the chords where you're doing those swells. Just my taste, though. I'm sure others will have a much different opinion. Either way, keep going. Nice work! |
The swell sound was actually a preset Bass synth sound from Noiiz, so I didn’t add any FX to that at all....I used the DBX 160 plug in on the guitars.
My Vision was o e of those pop type songs that was basically the same thing all through but with a change in melody in verse and chorus.....this is the stumbling block ! |
O.K. - I think I get the "swoops" a little better. In the context of the finished song (whatever it turns out to be), those swells will sound better. I was listening to a work in progress as if it was finished.
Lots of newbies, and "perpetual newbies" like myself introduce accidental atrifacts, which is what it sounded like to me at first. But now I'm starting to see where you're going. I look forward to the next version! |
