Hi everyone,
here's a piece I made with Studio One 3.5 and the KONTAKT library Balkan (ethnic orchestra library) from Strezov Sampling. So everything you hear in this song are sounds from Balkan - except some sounddesign percussion hits. My idea was that it should contain some kind of "solo" part featuring the Gypsy Clarinet patch that I really like. Of course it's not that easy to do this with virtual instruments - I tried my best I didn't want to use any recorded phrases so I only used the playable instrument patches. I'm very thankful for any feedback regarding arrangement, sounds and mix Thanks & cheers, Lukas

I don't know this style of music, but I'm very impressed by the way you've programmed the clarinet part; I can't tell it from a human musician playing. Listening on my headphones I'm in a wide soundscape with every instrument or group of instruments clearly heard in its space, and all blend into one overall sound with nothing out of place. The whole thing progresses through its parts like a story. A very nice mix.

Great job. That was not easy to do with playing all the instruments like that.
Sounds very good. I liked it a lot. |
Thanks guys!! Very glad you like it.
Bbd wroteThat was not easy to do with playing all the instruments like that. Yeah, indeed that was very challenging. So it was very helpful that the instruments are very dynamic... I guess it would be even harder (or impossible) with more conventional samples like stock presets in many soft samplers / sample players. Listening on my headphones I'm in a wide soundscape with every instrument or group of instruments clearly heard in its space, and all blend into one overall sound with nothing out of place. Thank you very much for those kind words!!
