Just for kicks, I tried v. 3.54 to play back that problematic MIDI V-Drum track I spoke about in the 3.53 release thread, the one that consistently keeps dropping drum hits (has Slate Drums / Multi-Instrument on the track) during playback. Well, it's still dropping notes.

Doesn't tell me what the problem is, but it demonstrates that it wasn't the one that was fixed. No doubt I'll eventually solve this but I'm trying to do creative work and don't want to lose momentum — which is the story of my life with computerized music since I made that transition back in 2002; there's always something that comes up to hinder progress.

Still, it's good to see repairs being made, nonetheless, so I do not run into further problems that I may not even know about yet. :)

So yeah, good work getting this fix out. Wish it was mine.

I suspect you have corrupt data in the song file.

Yay Presonus, thanks for doing that! Now I must continue what is quickly becoming a kafkaesque ordeal of trying to figure out if even one other living soul knows or cares about what this means:

"• Copy range keeps the original range"

Any help? I guess I should just submit a support ticket to get a basic explanation of what a new feature is supposed to do? That seems....inefficient.

I took an hour or so to move my most important tracks into a fresh file and folder scheme. The V-Drum MIDI files now play back perfectly without any dropouts.

I always prefer knowing what went wrong so I can avoid repeating that mistake again. But I guess I'll have to live with the mystery — or just blame it on someone's devil. :)

I can happily confirm that 3.5.4 fixes the realtime processing of mixdowns with instrument tracks. Good to be working with the latest and greatest again. Thank you very much, PreSonus, for the rapid turnaround on this one!

I'm still having to register S1 every time I restart my computer.

The update I was told to install was superceeded by KB 1709 which I have installed as all the latest security and other updates.

Nothing changed for me in the last two updates.

Thx. After trying this version there still are some minor problems. On songs made with erlier 3.5.x versions, transform to instrument track works. But if I undo, I end up with two tracks, one audio and one instrument track. This doen not happen with audio tracks created in 3.5.4.

Undo what?
A transform?
A bounce in place ?
A bounce to track?
A stem render to song?

Undo the transform to instrument track that I just have done. Of cource this is nothing I usually do, but anyway it doesn't work as expected.

Thanks
That seems simple enough for people to verify.
BTW technically a Transform Instrument to Audio should be reversed with an Audio to Instrument command as there are 4-5 things it is doing.
