When I play my keyboard, there is a half second lag. Also, if I play to vigorously, the sound distorts horribly. Any suggestions?

Way too many variables to answer your question.
How are you connecting your Casio to your computer? Are you recording MIDI/VSTi tracks or recording the audio output of the keyboard? Is the lag and distortion present and audible when you're recording, or only noticeable on playback? Which computer OS/interface etc. are you using?

It is connected with a USB and its noticeable while I'm playing. I'm running on a PC. I'm recording via MidI

Also, when it distorts, the cpu meter on the bottom left pegs and shows red if that helps
