Is there a app that I could add to my I phone 6 plus or my mini I pad that would help when running live sound? Thanks

It depends on which 16.4.2 you have. The classic? or the AI? The answer is yes for the iPad Mini either way, but the means of making it work would be different depending on exactly which model you have. The iPhone doesn't really work for live sound, just monitor mixes.

StudioLive Remote and QMix is what you need. Have a look here: http://www.presonus.com/products/Control-Software

With a classic studiolive, you have to have a computer with FireWire (Mac mini is a good option, maybe used on eBay even) to use SL Remote on an iPad or Qmix for the iPhone

There are several tools available. You might want to have a look at http://www.studiosixdigital.com/ and their AudioTools. You can buy Smaart as an add on, but also without it's a phantastic help for live work.

I use a free app called SpectroPro on my iPhone for ringing out monitors/mains with the GEQs. If you adjust the sensitivity right, works great! And can be used with any PA, I've brought many smiles to faces of other sound guys by showing them that App and how to use it! Anyone can crank a mic till it feeds back, but to instantly know exactly what frequency that feedback is, that's sweet!

The Smaart wizard of the StudioLive can only be done through SL Remote on an iPad (mini works) and it affects the PEQs of the outputs.

Yes, That's it, Spectrogram Pro. The icon on my phone says SpectroPro so. . .

Re:SpectroPro

Start up the app, then whistle while looking at you phone and you will see your whistle in the spectrograph, then touch the screen where the hot spot is and it will tell you the exact frequency at that point!

Whistling works great as an example opposed to humming, humming/singing causes too many harmonics to be heard and it can be hard to tell what the root of the note really is, but a whistle comes through with no harmonics, and feedback typically shows the same way as a whistle.

Lots of things to tweak in the options (I'm not even sure what they all mean), I have my gain set pretty low like 15%, range 12s, Scale=log, S+B, Avg, spec, FFT 4096

but play around with it while whistling and get it to work the way you want it and it should work about the same way when ringing out monitors
