I plan on adding a Subwoofer to my system, and I'm considering buying one of the Temblor Series Sub. The Question I have is which one best suits my Eris 4.5 Monitors? I know the T10 has higher wattage, deeper bass, and a bypass foot switch, but is it a good match for my Eris 4.5s or is the T8 a better match?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

It kind of depends on the sound you are looking for. The T10 definitely has a lower bass extension. If you do a lot of electronic music production you might like that better to reference really low end/subharmonic frequencies.
I have a pair of Ceres4.5's with a T8 in my house. The Ceres4.5's are basically the same as the Eris4.5 with the addition of BlueTooth. I really like the sound of this set up for the size room I have them in (a small bedroom). Honestly, I don't think you'll be disappointed either way. Both of the subwoofers sound great. It just depends if you like that super low bass for the style of music you do. |
I think Rick hit the nail on the head with this one! Either way, a Temblor sub is going to be an excellent addition to our 4.5 monitors (whether they be Eris or Ceres.) Something to keep in mind: you can dial the T10 back to match the level of the T8; but you won't be able to get a T8 to match the full volume of the T10. You also get a few more connection options with the T10. It just depends on if you want that extra boost on the end and the bypassing footswitch.

i have pretty much played bass most of my life. IMHO, I would never go below a 10" speaker for low end. Anything smaller just doesn't handle it the same way for me. In simple terms, you will never get a 10" speaker, and wish you had gotten an 8".

Connect to the Sub first, then use the L/R outputs to connect to the Eris out of the sub. The crossover knob will determine what frequencies will pass through to the Eris.
