The 8's are awesome. Don't know about the 6's.

8's go lower and louder. are you worried they'll be too much for the room?

EDIT: Also $500 more per pair for the 8's if that makes a difference.

My room is about the same size as yours and I LOVE my S6s. I've never had a problem with them being inadequate.

Same question here as well, Cant decide and same size room as OP roughly.
I listened to to a demo on YouTube with the two and it seemed like the bass on the S6 was more " there" if you will, the S8 seemed to have less. Naqvi did the video

I gotta decide today if Im going with the 6 since the same is done today. Ive always had 8's here

Any help appreciated

I a/b them in my place with HS50's. The best way for me to describe is the 8's bring more "weight" to the mix. Other than that, there isn't a huge amount of low end loss. If I had to do it all over again, I would get the 6's and call it a day. I got a really good deal on the 8's at the time. I have had the 6's in my room. In a smaller room, the 6's seem to be the right fit.

FWIW, I have a semi-treated space in a basement. About 12' wide, 14' deep, with no rear wall.

Thanks Matt, I went ahead and ordered the S6. I think it will be a great upgrade from my Event ASP8's. I may pick up some Yamahas down the road as well

I saw on FB you pulled the trigger. Nice work.

I like the Yammy's in my setup. I have some loss around 1-2k, and the HS50's really exaggerate there. They aren't the NS10's, but they are as close as you will get these days. Sometimes for me the Sceptre's are too good, where I am looking for some mashup in the freq to see the real problem.

My buddy has a set of the HS5's, I need to listen to them. I was thinking a set of the Zen Modded HS8's maybe, who knows, one set at a time
