Hi all. Somewhat new to home/computer recording and started setting up to do home recording. I am currently using a Presonus Audiobox USB and Studio One and Akai monitors. Not getting really good quality sound from them so I am going to get new monitors. I am thinking Presonus E5 or E44 as they seem to have a lot of what I am looking for in the price range I am looking to spend. Anyone have a suggestion on which I'd be better off ordering or if another monitor would be better in that price range? I am pretty much only recording & mixing myself and mostly hi gain music. Thanks

I don't have them, but I hear a lot of good things about the E5's. If it were me, I would look at a combo of the E5's and a 10" sub. Neither really have a big enough woofer to accurately reproduce low end. The 44's only have a 4" woofer.

Nothing wrong with starting with the E5's, and adding a sub down the road when you can.
