Hi, i have a 16.4.2 ai mixer and im attempting to use the remote app on an ipad. I am using a wireless network and i have the mixer and the ipad on the same network but they dont seem to be communicating with each other. I've watched the video on how to set everything up but i can't get it to work. Any help would be appreciated.

IIRC, you have to go in through VSL on the pc first and give permissions to the devices.

ok. Thank you. I'll try that. Will i have to have a computer in order to use the ipad At all times? I was under the impression whenever i purchased the mixer that i would only need a wireless network and an ipad....

On the AI series I think you are correct. This was posted in the classic (non AI) forum, so lets make sure. For the AI series, the instance where you will need a computer is for recording.

I think you need a router in between.

On a classic (non-AI) 16.4.2, you need the mixer connected via FireWire to a computer to be able to control it. The computer controls the mixer, the iPad controls the computer (basically).

On the AI mixers, the mixer has its own networking capabilities so no computer required except for recording and Smaart. Maybe other things but I can't remember off the top of my head.
