Ive decided to go Mac mini M1, but...I thought the FW Interface e thing had been sorted but its seems the Gen 1 16.4.2 is as good as finished.

I really like that mixer / interface so Im looking for the best equivalent solution.

The mixer is primarily so I can keep a lot of things connected for use, so in theory I could still do this and direct a stereo output to a new TB interface I guess ?

What you lot think ?

Thunderbolt or USB is the way to go.

Look at the Quantum 2626 or Studio 1824c. Both can run low sample rates for low latency with the M1.

If all you need is a stereo connection to the Mac then have a look at the 16.4.2’s S/PDIF output. S/PDIF to USB converters can be had for as cheap as $20 :) Or maybe not. USB to S/PDIF is cheapish, the other way around more expensive.
