Two Macs, two interfaces (Digi 002 and Presonus 16.0.2) - record simultaneously? Help!

If possible with my setup, I'm looking to record multitrack drums (or a full band) simultaneously to both interfaces and/or computers at the same time and it's twisting my head. Do I do this via linking firewire, a snake, not at all? ugh.

Recording program aside (I use Ableton), is there a way to do this, instead of "collecting all and saving", saving to a USB stick, opening up the project over at the other computer, rinse and repeat etc.

1. Drum room - main recording setup, everything will be plugged into this:
Presonus 16.0.2 connected via firewire to Macbook Pro laptop
Multitrack drums, etc all being recorded to this Macbook and using Ableton Live or Logic

2. Editing room - this is where I want the audio to be routed/recorded simultaneously.
Digi 002 connected via firewire to Mac Pro Tower
I realize Digi 002 only has 4 XLR inputs
I use Ableton Live or Logic

Any help or advice you could give would be amazing.

Probably more trouble than its worth. Any soundcard/interface will only lock to one PC/mac for clocking.

You could split the signal at the mic, and run to 2 different daws. You could run a snake to the edit room and just record to that pc/mac. You could also use the recording room mac, and record to an external hdd. Then just move the hdd to whatever workstation you are using.

Or you could record in one room, and physically copy the files from one workstation to another.

Mac offers Target Disk Mode for this. After recording on the MBP set it to Target Disk Mode (System Preferences - Startup Disk...) and connect it by firewire cable to the Mac tower. Now you can access the MBP’s disk as an external disk from the tower. Up to you if you want to copy across or keep working on the MBP’s drive.
