StudioLive 16.0.2 Won't Play With Mac 10.13.6

I've been at this for 3 hours now and need to get some work done. I need for this PreSonus StudioLive 16.0.2 to communicate with my Mac OS 10.13.6 system. I've used this interface successfully over the past few years with this same Mac system, switched it out last month for a PreSonus StudioLive 24R, decided last week to go for the 32R instead, returned the 24R and while waiting for the 32R to arrive, need to revert back to my 16.0.2 to continue working. But the 16.0.2 won't make itself available to my system any longer.

I've installed, removed and reinstalled the Universal Control v1.7.6 driver no less than a dozen times, in normal & safe modes and every other way imaginable, in every case giving permission in my security settings for the app to install. In my system report I'm showing the 16.0.2 as a FireWire entity but, despite all efforts, the 16.0.2 won’t show up in my system sound preferences, MIDI studio settings, nor will it appear as an option in my Pro Tools setup. The "About Universal Control" screen says the driver is (see screen shot attached).

Is there an alternate driver I can use to get this to work, or some other method I haven't tried yet?

macOS is blocking the driver install.

Check Security settings in the OS and make sure it isn't waiting on you to approve the driver install.
