Hello everyone...

I am having issues with my iPad seeing my SLs without internet. When I set up my network on my comp(MacBook Pro) everything seems fine except...my iPad does not show the SL. When I connect them via an internet abled wifi connection the sync just fine. Anyone else had this issue...is there a fix?

You still need a wireless router so the iPad and laptop can talk to each other.
It does not need to be hooked up to the internet. Unfortunately our older consoles did not have built in wifi.
Hope this helps.

I have connected my laptop to the SL using only the network on comp. The SL sees the iPad as a remote device...the iPad doesn't see the SL...

http://www.presonus.com/support/downloads/StudioLive-16.4.2

This is the download page for your mixer, so check if you are using matching firmware and software versions:

Universal Control 1.7.2
Firmware Version 1.50a, build 190
Driver Version: 4.1.3.17357
Universal Control Build: PC: 5486 / Mac: 5485

"Virtual Studio Live" is the software: http://www.presonus.com/products/Virtual-StudioLive

On iPad you need to use "StudioLive Remote", not UC Surface. Here are two links:

http://www.presonus.com/products/StudioLive-Remote
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/presonus-sl-remote/id417052667?mt=8#

If you can still create an own network on your iMac, the iPad should find your mixer - but I as far as I remember a FireWire connection (400) is needed to make this work.

Hope this helps and lets you find a solution for your problem.

I have the 24.4.2 board. I'm the sound engineer at my church and I use the board without an internet connection and control it with my ipad. U have to have a Mac computer with a firewire connection. This will not work with Windows based compters. Connect the computer to the board via firewire. Then on the Mac click on Connect Network. Name it and make sure it the channel is automatic. Also click require password. Input your password and make sure Security is 40-bi WEP. Now get your ipad. Go to the settings and turn auto lock on to (never) if not this will disconnect. Go to Wifi and connect to the network that you just created. Now go to SL Remote. Click connect to connect to your studiolive board. Any questions?
