I see there is a 12v connection for adding a light. Where to you get this at?

any typical BNC light will do, I don't think Presonus sells them. I got mine from Sweetwater (not that I use it anymore now that I mix on an iPad :D )

However, be careful. If you short the 12V output for the light, I think it will kill the console as well. Whether "kill" is permanent or just until you remove the short I do not know.

I added an extra independent power supply just for a lamp and haven't regretted it.

I've seen some posts over the years that indicated power supply failures attributed to either shorting of the BNC connector or even the use of an incandescent light (pulling too much power?). Many were recommending LED light for that reason. If the older forum posts are still available in an archive, give them a quick search for more info on the topic.

they want 60 bucks for a crappy hosa LED...No way! I got a dual LED clip on reading light $14.95 that works perfect and it is free to move around I use it to see inside racks and whatever else I ned light quickly and the clip is handy for use in other situations... no chance of it shorting the board iit is mobile and bright and has two lights and works better than the BNC... I use the same ones for music stand lights too.

The trick is finding a place to clip it on the 1602... I use one of the XLR cables on the back in a pinch but i have an old tiny tripod for a camera I don't have or use anymore... I put it between the 1602 and the lighting console... lights em both...

LED are recommended due to the lower power draw.

Hmm. That BNC connector on the board seems like a dangerous bull teet.
