Anyone have an idea when the back-up function in UC 2.x is going to be fixed? I would have thought that something as important as backing-up the board would have been given priority over other things, and would have been corrected by now.
SL16.4.2Ai, SL312Ai mains, SL18Ai sub, Yorkville M810 Powered Mixed, Lenovo W530 Laptop (i-7 4-core @ 2.7 GHz, 24 GB RAM, 7200 rpm hard drive, 2-nd SSD, Win7 Pro 64 bit), Linksys WRT54GS router, Studio One Pro 3.2, Presonus Fader Port, HP-60 headphone amp, Furman PL-Plus power strip, all in a rolling SKB 2-piece case with A/V shelf.

Nobody knows why PreSonus has not delivered solutions for the back-up and the FireWire lag problems. For the FireWire lag the workaround is to use UC 1.8.0 on the computer and UC 2.x on iPad, but I am not sure that everybody can handle the recommended back-up via network, because you need to know how to use the dongle with the mixer and how to make your computer join the wireless network.
"Back-up" sounds good, but in Audio an active file management for scenes and presets makes more sense. UC Surface since version 1.8 up to version 2.4 have made saving presets and scenes much easier (I remember how it needed to be done on the console...). Simply copy files individually from "mixer" to "local" - and vice versa. You can easily delete scenes/presets or store them under a new name. It is also possible to recall single settings like the names of the channels, but not the processing or routing. StudioLiveSoftware_ReferenceManual-EN-V7_29092017, section 5.5.4 and 5.5.5. |
