VXP Voice Processor

Got one on the way......couple of questions for anyone with experience with them. I'm guessing there are similarities in terms of preamp sound quality with the Eureka given both unit's release dates and price points. Just looks like the VXP has more/different features. No saturation like the Eureka but the VXP has expander and de-esser.....which I'm not sure I'll find all that useful.
I't also my understanding that original units shipped with Jensen transformers and these are more highly regarded than later units which swapped the Jensens for "custom" trannies. Also wondering if the VXP's opamps are socketed like the Eureka's so I can experiment with different chips?

All that being said.....I have a Firestudio 26x26, a Digimax LT and a Firestation,(just using as a vocal pre) all living in the same rack.....will the VXP bring anything worthwhile to that party?

Any thoughts/comments greatly appreciated!
