DP88 conversion vs AD192 conversion(Eureka)

Hi

My question is how the AD conversion in the DP88 compares to the conversion in the AD192 card in the Eureka. I'm currently running a RC500 into the extra input on my AD192 then out SPDIF to a Focusrite Clarett 8pre. It seems to have more detail going through the AD192 than if I run it through the Clarett conversion. I currently have a Digimax D8 for expansion when recording drums, but I'm curious about the DP88 for expansion and to run my outboard pre's through.

Thank you

Hi and welcome,

ADC dynamic range 118dB (DP88) vs. 114dB (AD192) so that would make the DP88 slightly better. Not that you'll notice as long as you set nice strong preamp levels.
