I decided to try Studio One on something else than KDE desktop. Installed Ubuntu 24.04 from scratch, installed my plugins, set up Pipewire, installed Studio One. But when I press “Record” or switch to Edit mode, Studio One does something nasty to Wayland compositor, so it shuts down, dumps core, and I end up at login screen.

Here's what I get when I run it with WAYLAND_DEBUG=1:

My machine specs didn't change, so it's all in signature.

Also, Studio One now often silently crashes when just playing the arrangement. What's interesting is that it can work crash-free for quite some time when launched in terminal, but I barely get 3 minutes of playback when I start it from app menu. Where do I send core dumps (I think there may be some sensitive information)? Later today (tomorrow for US) I'll go back to KDE and see if Studio One works better in this environment.

Software:
OS: Kubuntu 24.04
Audio server: Pipewire
DAW: Studio One 6.5 (Studio One+ Pro subscription)

Machine specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G
RAM: DDR4 32 GiB 3600 MHz
GPU: AMD Vega integrated
MB: ASUS Prime B550M-A
Interface: Zoom U-24 (USB)

Thanks for the report!
Could you send me the core dumps in a private message?
I can try to resolve those on Monday.

These crashes are caused by https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/3462.

Please use a different compositor for now. A future update of Mutter should fix this.
