How do I set the function of an external footswitch to punch in/out record instead of the standard play/stop function on the Faderport 2? Just like I used it on the Faderport Classic

You have to Record Arm the track. If the Footswitch is plugged into the Faderport 2018, and the track is armed for record, clicking the Footswitch should automatically start recording. It does on mine that way.
