Faderport 2018 - Pan Mode

I just unpacked and installed my Faderport 2018 and noticed some odd behavior. Hopefully this is user error and not a bad controller. Thanks in advance.

1. Pan mode - Encoder does not pan the track but switches between tracks. Also, prev/next buttons only switch tracks to the left, hitting the next button does not select tracks to the right. I'm running the latest version of studio 4 pro, and updated the Faderport firmware upon installation.

OSX 10.13.5
Studio One 4 - 4.01.48247
Faderport Firmware v3.03.

I solved this by booting into native mode - powered on holding "next" button, then hiting solo. I was expecting this to work out of the box.
