Discuss Quantum Series Interfaces Here

Hi all,

I used to have 2 stabeboxes connected in series to a StudioLive 32sc, and used that as my main interface. AVB was a lifesaver to keep the installation simple and clean.

For various reasons I need to replace the mixer with a regular interface, and was hoping to stay in the Presonus world. However, none of the interfaces support AVB, so I have no way of connecting the stageboxes. I could get s Motu 828es interface, or use s 16r, but I’m not a fan of Motu, and the 16r is not really a good replacement for a full interface given its limited from panel controls etc.

For the moment I’m learning towards getting a motu lp32 to convert the AVB streams to adat, and then connect those to the adat inputs of an interface, but I would have loved to be able to skip that step.

If only the Quantum interface had an AVB port…

Any other suggestions or ideas would be much appreciated.

Thank you

My question is why do you need to change from the mixer to an interface? Are you aware that there is now an "interface mode" for the series 3 mixers that gives direct output routing from the daw?

It’s actually all about ergonomics and a change in studio layout / room. I simply can’t fit it in a way that works with my new desk / environment without slowing down my workflow significantly.

Only a Series 3 mixer can control the Preamps on an NSB. You either commit to that or change it out.
